Post-installation acoustic verification

We measure the result once the solution is installed, and put in writing whether the acoustic requirement was met.

Where projects get lost

A study defines how much attenuation is needed, at which point and in which frequency band. A supplier delivers equipment with a catalogue attenuation figure. Between those two things there is a gap that almost nobody covers: the actual assembly, the actual operating conditions, leaks through pipe penetrations or poorly executed seals, among others. Correct equipment badly installed does not comply, and the only way to know is to measure.

What it includes

• Review of the installation against the project’s acoustic specification.
• On-site supervision during assembly (optional).
• Measurement campaign after commissioning, at the same points and with the same methodology as the original study, so the figures are directly comparable.
• Verification report with the result per frequency band, compared against the requirement defined by the study.
• If it does not comply, a diagnosis of where the loss is and what has to be corrected.

When it is worth contracting

• When the RCA or an SEA observation committed a mitigation measure and you need to demonstrate that it was implemented.
• When the investment in equipment is high and it is worth confirming that it delivered what was specified.
• When there is a community complaint and technical evidence of the situation after mitigation is needed.
• When the equipment was supplied by a third party and you want an independent opinion on the result.

What it is not

This is an engineering service, not a measurement with legal validity before the Environment Superintendency (SMA): we are not an authorised environmental inspection entity (ETFA). If your project needs a measurement with that status, we will tell you up front. This service is a preventive measurement, so that you know where your project stands on compliance — because if an ETFA measures and finds an exceedance, your project will be in trouble.

Who does it

The same team that ran the study. All acoustic civil engineers, with no subcontracted stages. If we ran the original study, the comparison is direct, because the measurement points and the methodology are already defined.
