Acústica Austral SpA (“Acústica Austral”), registered at Diego Portales 860, Puerto Montt, Chile, is the controller of the personal data collected through this website (acusticaustral.cl). We process your data in accordance with Chilean Law No. 19,628 on the Protection of Private Life and Law No. 21,719 on the protection and processing of personal data, which takes full effect on 1 December 2026 and whose standards already guide our practice.
What data we collect
We only collect the data you give us voluntarily:
- Contact form: name, email address, phone number, company, project stage and any files you choose to attach.
- Resource download forms: name and email address, so we can email you the technical guides we offer free of charge.
- Meeting scheduling: the data you enter in Microsoft Outlook Bookings when you reserve a slot.
- WhatsApp button: using it opens a conversation in WhatsApp, with whatever data that application shows to the person you write to.
- Direct contact by email or telephone.
The site also collects browsing data in aggregate form through Google Analytics: pages viewed, traffic source, device type and approximate location at city level. We do not collect sensitive data, we do not make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell or transfer your data to third parties for commercial purposes.
The legal basis for processing
Our processing is based on your consent, which you give by submitting a form, booking a meeting or accepting analytics cookies. Where a commercial relationship already exists, we process the data needed to perform the contract and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations. You may withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.
What we use your data for
To answer your enquiry, prepare a technical or commercial proposal, send you the resource you requested, arrange meetings, follow up on an ongoing project, meet legal and contractual obligations, and understand in aggregate how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not send bulk marketing communications.
Where your data is held
Form submissions are not stored in this website’s database: they are sent straight to our company mailbox and are held there under our custody. The site keeps only a technical record of the last submission, which does not include your full email address and exists solely to confirm that delivery worked.
Processors and international transfers
We use third-party services that may process data on our behalf:
- Microsoft — email and scheduling (Outlook Bookings).
- Google — web analytics (Google Analytics and Site Kit).
- Meta / WhatsApp — messaging, if you choose that channel.
- Our hosting and email provider — site infrastructure and message transmission.
Some of these providers process data on servers located outside Chile, mainly in the United States and the European Union. That means the processing involves an international transfer of data.
As at the date of this policy, the Chilean data protection authority has not yet published its list of countries with an adequate level of protection, nor the standard contractual clauses it will approve. Until it does, we rely on two safeguards at once: (a) we engage only providers that offer data protection contractual clauses to their customers and declare standards equivalent to those required by Chilean and European law; and (b) we tell you expressly, here and at the moment you hand us your data, that the transfer takes place, so that your consent is informed.
If you would rather your data did not leave Chile, write to contacto@acusticaustral.cl and we will sort it out: in practice it means we handle your enquiry by telephone rather than through a form.
Retention period
We distinguish two situations:
- If a commercial relationship arises with you or your company, we keep contact details and project records for as long as the relationship is active and for six years after it ends. We did not pick that figure: it is the period Chilean tax law requires for keeping accounting records and their supporting documents, while the Internal Revenue Service’s review periods remain open (article 200 of the Tax Code).
- If you only downloaded a resource or sent us an enquiry that did not lead to work, we keep your name and email for a maximum of 24 months from the last contact, and then delete them.
In either case you may ask us to erase your data before those periods expire, and we will, unless a legal obligation in force requires us to keep it. Once the periods expire and there is no legal reason to keep the data, we delete it without you having to ask.
Your rights
You may exercise at any time your rights of access (to know what data we hold), rectification (to correct it), erasure or cancellation (to delete it), objection (to ask us to stop processing it), portability (to receive it in a reusable format) and blocking (to suspend its processing temporarily).
To exercise them, write to contacto@acusticaustral.cl stating which right you wish to exercise. We will reply within the legal time limits and charge nothing for handling these requests. If you believe we have not responded properly, you may complain to the competent data protection authority.
Cookies and consent
This site uses technical cookies, needed for it to work and to remember your preferences, and Google analytics cookies, which let us understand in aggregate how the site is used. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them in the cookie notice; if you decline, the site works just the same.
You can withdraw or change your consent at any time: delete this site’s cookies in your browser settings and the notice will appear again so you can choose afresh. You can also write to contacto@acusticaustral.cl and we will handle it with you.
Security
The site runs entirely over HTTPS and we apply reasonable technical and organisational security measures to protect data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration. No system is infallible; should we detect a security breach affecting your personal data, we would notify you and the relevant authority within the time limits the law requires.
Minors
This site and our services are aimed at professionals and companies. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services or in applicable law. The date of the last update appears at the top. If a change is substantial we will say so visibly on the site.
