Mason vibration isolators

Mason Industries, Inc.Manufacturer of the vibration isolators on this page. We supply them as part of the Silentium line we distribute across southern Chile. The problem
A chiller, a pump or a genset transmits vibration into the slab, and from there into the whole structure. The symptom arrives late and in disguise: structure-borne noise on floors nobody connected to the plant room. And when an earthquake comes, the same equipment that was vibrating shifts or topples.
The solution
Mason Industries spring isolators with seismic restraint, for equipment running at low RPM or installed on long-span slabs. The seismic force each isolator withstands is measured and certified under OSHPD — Mason is the only company in the market that certifies that value in a laboratory.
Specifications
| Load range | 5 to 10,800 kg |
|---|---|
| Deflection | 1 to 5 inches |
| Seismic force | 0.8 to 21.6 G |
| Certification | OSHPD |
Applications
HVAC equipment — water pumps, chillers, compressors, air handling units, cooling towers and fans — and gensets.
Which requirement does it help you meet?
Vibration control design follows ASHRAE, and the seismic side follows NCh 3357:2015, the Chilean standard for seismic design of non-structural components and systems. The goal is not only to isolate vibration: it is for the equipment to remain operational after the earthquake. In critical facilities — hospitals, data centres, process plants — that continuity is the requirement, and without certified seismic force there is no way to demonstrate it in the calculation.
